Indianapolis Monthly magazine chose Purgatory Golf Club as the very best place to take visitors, and the Indianapolis Business Journal called Purgatory Golf Course the best new golf course.

These accolades aren’t given out freely, however. Purgatory Golf Club deserves all its awards, for many reasons.  Purgatory Golf Club contains more than 125 bunkers throughout the course, which outline fairways and help visually define the various holes; the course is covered with bent grass and contrasting fescue grasses that look like heather to add challenge and visual interest. Every single hole at Purgatory Golf Club has at least six tees, each designed to accommodate different levels of skill.

At just under 5,000 yards, Purgatory is one of Indiana’s shortest golf courses when played from the front tees. If started from the back tees, the golf course is 7,700 yards, and one of the state’s longest. Purgatory offers a 300-yard practice range with 40 tee stations. Through the practice range runs a junior golf course for Noblesville children that allows certification in preparation for tackling the full course and is employed for junior clinics.

The club has a serious practice area, with a pitching green as well as a standard putting green, so that golfers can test both their putting and sand games. Everything in the practice area, greens and bunkers is set up just like the big course, and the golfer that practices first gets an accurate idea of what will happen out on the course.

Purgatory Golf Club offers lots of restroom facilities on the course for on-the-green convenience to golfers; the clubhouse contains a complete pro shop and a lovely banquet hall inside a charming log cabin building. Purgatory Golf Club is the place for special Noblesville events such as weddings and Noblesville business meetings. The venue is also a favorite for golf outings.
