Noblesville Attractions
Noblesville, Indiana is a good-sized suburb of Indianapolis, and one of the largest in population, with around 30,000 residents. This city is growing as fast as almost any in the country, along with most of the others in Hamilton County.
Some of the attractions that keep visitors staying are described below:
Noblesville Forest Park contains three major visitors’ centers, along with a carousel, athletic courts, shelters and play areas. The Indiana Transportation Museum is inside the park space. This unique facility maintains working locomotives and runs train excursions to some of the towns close by. The Forest Park Aquatic Center sports a beautiful Olympic-sized swimming pool and lots of water games for the kids. The Forest Park Golf Course, built in 1927, is the oldest golf course in Hamilton County.
Noblesville’s Hamilton Town Center is an enormous new shopping mall with a nostalgic attitude. Anchors are J.C. Penney, dick’s Sporting Goods and Bed, Bath & Beyond, with tons of unique stores and restaurants in between. And the adventurous will find antique shops and more all along downtown Noblesville‘s historic Courthouse Square.
Also downtown are two gorgeous historical buildings, a real blast from the past. The Courthouse itself is a dramatic building and the county seat building of Hamilton County, as well as the present-day Hamilton County Courthouse. The old sheriff’s residence and jail once housed Charles Manson and a KKK Grand Dragon. This building is now the Hamilton County Museum of History.
On the northern edge of Noblesville is Verizon Wireless Music Center, once known as Deer Creek Music Center. This is a state-of-the-art performance amphitheater that attracts a high percentage of country western musicians.
The annual Hamilton County 4-H Fair is a huge draw for locals as well as residents of all the small towns in the area, and even down into Indy. It takes place within the city of Noblesville on the county fairgrounds, and spans five days of fun for everybody. Chock full of activities, exhibitions, competitions, live music, and unending food vendors, there is something for everybody in the family at this very popular summer festival.
The yearly Stonycreek Farm Pumpkin Harvest Festival is an eagerly-anticipated event which has attracted generations of families to Noblesville every year.
