Indiana Transportation Museum: A Monument to the Crossroads of America

Indiana Transportation Museum is located in Noblesville, IndianaThe Indiana Transportation Museum, located in the Forest Park area of Noblesville, Indiana, offers first-hand experience riding rails right out of Noblesville history. The Indianapolis museum is an Indianapolis non-profit endeavor that attracts railway fanatics across Central Indiana. Residents of neighboring towns such as Westfield, Carmel, Fishers, and even big-brother neighbor Indianapolis all take advantage of the Indiana Transportation Museum.

Train near the The Indiana Transportation Museum in Noblesville, IndianaThis remarkable facility contains several authentic examples of heavy locomotives, freight cars, passenger coaches and cabooses. The Indiana Transportation Museum, through an all-volunteer staff of dedicated railroad devotees, offers excursion train rides to the public on the former railroad line built for the Indianapolis and Peru Railroad Company. The Indiana Transportation Museum also holds several Noblesville events:

The Hamiltonian
This people pleasing excursion is a dinner train that starts at the Fishers Train Station and goes to restaurants in either Atlanta or Cicero. The train works on selected Fridays.

The Atlanta Express
This train starts at the museum’s own Hobbs Station and goes eleven miles north to Atlanta, Indiana.

The Indiana Transportation Museum train in Noblesville, IndianaThe Fair Train
During the August days of the big Indiana State Fair, the Indiana State Fair Train excursion makes ten round trips to the fair and back to the museum grounds per day.

Dinner in the Diner
This is a spectacular ride for 36 lucky diners, produced once a month by the museum. It starts at the museum grounds and goes to Tipton, Indiana, and is sought-after for extra-special occasions.

The Pizza Train
A wow for the whole family, guests are whisked off by locomotive to a wonderful pizza restaurant in Tipton, then back early enough for even the smallest member of your tribe.

This is a Noblesville school program offered by the museum, comprised of a package that includes a workbook, a museum tour and a train ride.

The Pumpkin Train
