Dom Di Carlo’s Pizza Restaurant: Old World Pies in Noblesville

Dom Di Carlo’s Pizza Restaurant in uptown Noblesville, Indiana is a favorite on the long list of pizza restaurants in the greater Indianapolis area. With a serendipitous location in the crook formed by Highway 19 to the north and east-west highway 38 through Noblesville, Dom Di Carlo’s pulls traffic from miles around, including nearby Fishers, Cicero, Pendleton, Westfield and Carmel, Indiana.

It’s not all the location, of course. The Dom calls itself “The Boss of All Pizza,” a title that turns out to have some merit, since Dom Di Carlo’s was voted “Indy’s Best Pizza” by Indianapolis Monthly Magazine in 2007. Actually, the name “Dom” was derived in this case from the name Dominick, who was Chef Matteo Di Carlo’s great grandfather and grandfather. Chef Matteo, a first generation Italian from Brooklyn, began gathering culinary secrets and skills at the impressionable age of seven, grinding sausage and cheese for the family’s pizza place.

When he grew up, he went to culinary school to pursue a dream that was planted at his father’s knee: to own his own pizzeria. Gaining experience by working in other restaurants, he was finally able to open shop after moving to Noblesville, a suburb of Indianapolis, capital of Indiana.

Dom Di Carlo’s is, therefore, a dream come true for Chef Matteo. The Chef’s goals now have to do with making his the best pizza, pasta and sub restaurant around, while consistently treating everyone who comes through the door like family. The way his own family always has.

The menu at this Noblesville restaurant is tempting and varied.  Along with the pizza the house is noted for, you’ll also find irresistible, classic entrees, such as Chicken Parmesan, spaghetti and meatballs and homemade lasagna, piled high and with plenty of sauce. The Antipasto and Roma Salads make perfect accompaniments to your pizza, and Di Carlo’s is famous for their Garlic and Parm or Cheddar Cheesy Bread Knots appetizers. Try the house “Bolis,” made fresh and stuffed full of almost any Italian-friendly ingredient you might want, including ricotta, Italian sausage, bacon, pepperoni, cheddar cheese, goat cheese, handmade meatballs, jalapenos, fried eggplant, sun-dried tomatoes, artichoke hearts and portabella mushrooms.

You’ll find the service and attention you get at Dom Di Carlo’s Pizza Restaurant every bit as good as the food. You see, the real “boss” at Dom Di Carlo’s is you, the valued customer and member of a growing family.
